I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Merivale's letter of the 27th Ultimo, 1 transmitting a copy of a correspondence between the Governor of Vancouver's Island and the Captains of Her Majesty's Ships "Satellite" and "Plumper"; and also of a despatch from the former, in which he announces that he has authorized a temporary addition to the pay of the crews of those ships out of the territorial revenue of the Colony.
