Sir,
I am directed by the Postmaster General to acquaint you, for the information of Secretary Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton, that an opportunity will be afforded of forwarding by the Mail Packet of the 18th Instant, in charge of Mr John De Courcy, a relative of Her Majesty's Consul at Panama, any Despatches which the Colonial Office may desire to send to VanCouver's Island or British Columbia.
Mr De Courcy on reaching Panama, will proceed to Victoria by the earliest opportunity.
