Sir,
We have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter
of the 22d inst with reference to the form of certificate
enclosed in our letter of the 18th of March last upon the subject of Colonel Moody's Salary as Chief Commissioner of Lands in British Columbia.
We beg now to transmit a certificate to the effect required,
which has since reached us, and will take care in future that your
instructions are fully attended to.

I suppose that Messrs Cox were in a hurry for payment of Col: Moody's salary, & cd not wait the receipt of the regular certificate signed by the Magistrate at New Westminster. It's arrival precludes the possibility of any loss. There remains nothing more to be done in the matter; the desph to the Governor shd still go on, I think, as a caution for the future.
