My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to forward an authenticated and two plain copies of an Ordinance of the recent Session of the Legislative Council of this Colony, entitled:
An Ordinance relating to Patents.
I add the Report of the Attorney General. He has furnished the best excuse which can be offered for this imperfect measure whenheManuscript image he states that it has been passed to meet an immediate emergency, in anticipation of more extended Legislation on the subject. I may mention that the amount of fees has not yet been settled by the Governor in Council.
I have the honor to be

Your Graces most obedient
humble Servant
