My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to forward an Authenticated and two plain copies of an Act of the recent Session of the Legislative Council of this Colony, Entitled;
An Ordinance for the relief of certain Naval and Military Settlers.
I add the report of the Attorney General.
2. The bill which has now becomeLawManuscript image Law was laid by me before the Legislative Council in obedience to the instructions conveyed in Your Grace's despatch No. 3 of 29th Feby 1864.
4. [3.] As it was possible that some Naval Officers might be in a similar position to that of Captain Houghton, referred to in Your Grace's despatch, the Act has been made to protect Naval as well as Military Settlers.
