Abstract
Despatch to London. Minutes (3).
Seymour sends copies of the Minutes of the latest session of the Legislative Council and reports that he has cautioned the Clerk to discontinue calling the Legislative Council a Parliament. Elliot minutes his approval stating: There is no need to encourage a bad taste for big Names in the British Colonies; and a single Council cannot reasonably be called a Parliament.

I have the honor to forward six copies of the Minutes of the late Session of the Legislative Council of this Colony.
2.—I have cautioned the Clerk of the Board that in Official Papers he is to discontinue calling the Legislative Council a "Parliament."

Shd we not perhaps acke, and express agreement with him that the nameManuscript image of Parliament is not appropriate to a Legislature consisting of a single Legislative Council?
