I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 26th Instant, enclosing a Copy of a Letter from Mr C.W. Franks, requesting a Passage from Panama to Vancouver's Island, via HM Ship "Sutlej," and I am to acquaint you, in reply, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, thatMy LordsManuscript image My Lords have no objection to Admiral Denman granting Mr Franks a Passage, provided No public expense is thereby incurred, and that he may apply to that Officer.
