I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter
of the 14th instant and of the accompanying copy of a despatch
from the Governor of British Columbia explaining the cause of the
delay in the issue to the Hudsons Bay Company of Grants of the
land assigned to them under the Agreement between Her Majestys
Government and theCompany
Company dated the 11th October 1861, and I
have to request that you will convey to the Secretary of State
for the Colonial Department the thanks of myself and my Collegues
in the direction of the Company for that obliging communication.
