Sir,
I transmit to you the enclosed copy of a letter from Daniel Coppin
containing an enquiry respecting a young man named Daniels who is stated
to have left England about 9 years ago.
I have to request that you will institute enquiries as to the truth
of the report of his death at Carriboo Gold Diggings, and furnish me
with such information as to any property he may have left as it may be
in your power to procure.
