Janion to Carnarvon
25th August 1866

I have been for many yearsoneManuscript image one of the leading importers and exporters in Victoria and as it will be of great importance to the interest of myself, and other Merchants to know how long the Free Port is to be maintained I venture to request that your Lordship will be pleased to inform me when it is probable that this act will come into effect.
I have the honour to be
Your Lordships most humble Servant
Robt Janion
