With reference to your Despatch No. 122 of the 18th of November
last, I have the honor to transmit to you a copy of a letter from the
War Office conveying the sanction of that Department for the retention
on the usual terms of the Arms and Accoutrements left in British Columbia on the withdrawal of the Detachment of Royal Engineers.
You will observe that it is proposed to charge the Colony half the
original value of the Accoutrements at the rates specified, and that it
is the desire of the Secretary of State for War to be furnished with a
complete List of the Military Stores in the possession of the Colonial
Authorities being the property of the Imperial Government.
