I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 19 of the 12th March reporting the discovery of extensive Gold Fields at that part of the Columbia River commonly known as the "Big Bend" and announcing that you had appointed Mr. O'Reilly and Mr. GaggintoManuscript image to be Gold Commissioners for the Columbia District.
