I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 20
of the 10th of March enclosing a copy of a letter from Mr. Watson, the
Treasurer of Vancouver Island complaining of the reduction of his
Salary.
I regret the inconvenience and loss to which Mr. Watson hasbeen been
subjected through the recent proceedings of the House of Assembly, but
the Government has no means of providing a remedy.
