Dear Sir,
I much regret that the telegraph authorities at New York should not, as yet, have replied to my sevice message inquiring whether a message can be sent direct to British Columbia.
As soon as I receive an answer, I will send you a copy.
Meanwhile I am informed by Mr Alexr C. Wilson of the New York Associated Press that the telegraph extends to Victoria Vancouver's Island. The rate from New York is $11.45 for ten words exclusive of address and signature, and $0.92 for each additional word.
