My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to forward, herewith, to Your Grace copy of a correspondence which has taken place between the Colonial Government andtheManuscript image the Naval Authorities on this Station relative to certain works of construction and repair that had become necessary at the British Station on the Island of San Juan in order properly to provide for the due accommodation of the Troops stationed there.
2. The correspondence explains itself, but I may state that every care has been taken to restrict theExpenditureManuscript image Expenditure to the lowest limit consistent with actual requirements, and I trust Your Grace will approve my action in the matter.
