I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a Confidential
Report from Mr. Pemberton, which was enclosed in your[s] to Sir F.
Rogers on the 26th June having reference to alleged Fenian movements
within the Colony of British Colombia.
I have to express my entire confidence in you and the Admiral to
take all needful precautions in such a matter and I am equally confident
that the good spirits of the Colonists will lead them to make common
cause against those whose real object is robbery and plunder.
