Sir,
I am requested by a number of gentlemen who desire to present a Memorial to Earl Granville on the unfortunate condition of the Colony of British Columbia, to ask if his Lordship could favor them with an interview for this purpose.
The Memorial is short, and a few gentlemen only will present it, and will not occupy much of his Lordship's time.

The writer might be asked on whose behalf he applies for an interview & be requested in the first instance to send a copy of the Memorial for Lord Granville's information previous to his recg the deputation?
