No. 103
6th August 1870
My Lord,
I have the honor to forward for Your Lordship's information some
Copies of a Hand Book of British Columbia, and Vancouver Island,
of which Mr Graham Alston, the Registrar General, is the Author.
2. I should be glad ifYour Your Lordship would cause this little
publication to be brought to the Notice of the Colonial Land and
Emigration Commissioners. Its circulation may do some good in
attracting Emigrants to a Colony which but for its distance from
England, which is now practically much lessened by the Pacific
Railway, offers many advantages to settlers.
3. I may add that Mr Alston has no personalinterest interest in the
publication beyond the desire to bring the Colony into notice.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord,
Your most obedient
humble Servant A. Musgrave
