No. 109
August 12, 1870
My Lord
I have the honor to forward to Your Lordship the copy of a letter from Mr Ker the Auditor General, in which he submits an application for some remuneration for the services rendered in auditing the Accounts of the Crown Funds.

2. In addition to the services to which he refers, Mr Ker has also without remuneration discharged the duty of auditing the Accounts of Military Expenditure in respect of the Detachment of Royal Marines occupying the Island of San Juan, which may be regarded more especially as Imperial Accounts.
3. Under the circumstances I would recommend that I should be allowed to pay Mr Ker the sum of $250(aboutManuscript image (about £50) from the Crown Fund, as remuneration for his services. The Crown Fund will probably soon form part of the General Revenue of the Colony.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord,
Your most obedient
humble Servant
A. Musgrave

Sir F. Rogers
Remuneration to Auditor General for auditing the Crown Fund Accounts sent home in 10098. It turns it seems to me on the question whether it was one of the duties of the Auditor General to audit these accounts—which does not appear. But for the Governor's recommendation of a payment of $250 for this service I should have thought it was.

I agree with Mr Cox & see no reason why he should have special pay from the Crown Revenue. When it is transferred to the Lre he may propose this Grant to them.
