I have the honor to forward to Your Lordship a Letter from
M
Ball, one of the Stipendiary Magistrates of this Colony praying
for a nomination to a Naval Cadetship for his son.
M Ball is
one of the oldest Public Servants in this Colony, and I shall be
glad if my
recommendation recommendation may be of service to him. I am aware
that in other Colonies the Governor is periodically permitted
under certain Regulations to make nominations to Naval
Cadetships. But I cannot trace any correspondence upon the
subject in the Records of my Office, except a recent Circular
Despatch of
11 June last, which does not refer to earlier
instructions; and perhaps the regulations have not been extended
to this
government government.
