I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 12 on the 5th February, on the subject of the Ordinance No. 11, 1869 respecting "Preemption Claims."
Under the circumstances stated to you I can understand that it may be expedient tointroduceManuscript image introduce into that Ordinance any amendment providing a summary mode of enforcing payment of the purchase money of preemption claims which have been surveyed by the Government on the application of the claimants instead of leaving it to be recovered by the ordinary course of the Law.
