With reference to my Despatch No. 23 of the 8th Instant, I transmit to you herewith the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. George Phillippo to be Attorney General for the Colony of British Columbia in the room of Mr. H.P.P Crease.
The Crown Agents for the Colonies have been instructed to pay to Mr. Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my Office, the sum of Thirty Shillings, being the price of the Stamp on the enclosed Warrant; and you will call on Mr. Phillippo to repay this amount into the Colonial Treasury.
