No. 63
13 June 1870
Sir,
I have to convey to you my confirmation of the leave of absence for three months which you have granted to Mr. James Judson Young Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office from the 11th August next as reported in your DespatchNo. 61Manuscript image No. 61 of the 10 May last.
In reporting leave of absence to public Officers I request that you will keep distinct the two cases of vacation leave and leave of absence as the former does not count against the Officer in calculating the amount of leave to which he is entitled in the proportion of 1/6th absence to his total resident service. Vacation leave does not require the Secretary of State's sanction and need only be reported for information.
I have the honor to be
Sir,
Your most obedient
humble Servant
Granville
