I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 158 [153] of the 7th December, in which you state that you agree with Mr. Phillippo, and the other Gentlemen who reported upon this subject in thinking that it is undesirable at the present time to re-open the question of Land Registration in British Columbia.
This being the case,Manuscript image I will not further press the amendment of the Land Registry Act of 1870, recommended by me in my Despatch No. 18 of the 5th September last although I see no reason to doubt that compensation clauses should be introduced into a measure of this nature.
