In the minutes, Blackwood suggests that the HBC may wish to offer observations on the content of Moresby's report.
Of the documents included in the file, the first is a draft letter from the Colonial Office to Pelly, which forwards copies of correspondence from the Admiralty and Moresby; the second is a letter from Moresby to the Admiralty, which reports damningly on the HBC's management of Vancouver Island.
Documents enclosed with the main document (not transcribed)
Moresby to the Admiralty, 3 July 1851,
reporting on his visit to Vancouver Island, with extensive
complaints about the management of affairs by the HBC.
