As Copies of
Capt Fanshawe's letters have not been transmitted
to me I have no observation to make on the Admiral's Communication, but
I am happy to inform your Lordship that the Directors of the Hudson's
Bay Company have learnt by letters from
M Douglas that
Captain
Fanshawe's vigorous measures had impressed the Natives with a salutary
terror, that the Murderers
ofof the three Seamen had been executed by
their own tribe, and that there was every prospect of permanent peace
being established.
