I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Lordship's letter of the 3rd Ultimo transmitting for the information of the Directors of the Hudson's Bay Company a Copy of a letter and of its enclosures from the Board of Admiralty relative to the proceedings of Rear Admiral Moresby in regard to Queen Charlotte's and Vancouver's Islands; and I am directed to request that you will convey to Sir John Pakington the thanks of the Governor and Committee for this communication which would have been acknowledged sooner had it not been accidentally mislaid.
