I have laid before the Earl of Clarendon your letter of the 15th Instant enclosing copies of Despatches from the Governor of Vancouver's Island relative to the aggressions of American Citizens in the Island of San Juan, and also a Copy of an Instruction which Secretary Sir William MolesworthproposesManuscript image proposes to address to Governor Douglas upon the subject of the date of the British occupation of the above Island, and I am to request that you will state to Sir William Molesworth that Lord Clarendon concurs in the terms of his proposed Despatch to Governor Douglas.
