I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No 13,
of the
18 of July 1856, calling my attention to Rule 157 in the
Book of Colonial Regulations, directing that Despatches from the
officers administering Colonial Governments, should each be confined to
a single
subjectsubject, a rule which I observe, with regret, has not been, in
all cases, attended to in my correspondence with Her Majesty's
Government.
I beg however to assure you that in my future communications I will
strictly conform to the said regulation.
