I have laid before the Earl of Clarendon your Letter of the 30th Ultimo, inclosing Copies of a Correspondence between the Governor of Vancouver's Island and the Governor of Washington Territory on the subject of the outrages committed on the citizens of the United States by the native Indian Tribes, and I am directed by His Lordship to request that you will inform MrSecretaryManuscript image Secretary Labouchere Secretary Labouchere that he concurs with him in considering that the conduct of Governor Douglas on the occasion in question should be approved.
