Moody to Lytton
JUS Club
London 27t August 1858.
My Lord,
I find the necessary amount of Stores to accompany the Royal Engineers to B. Columbia via Cape Horn will require the whole of the Tonnage of the "Thames City" the vessel which has been chartered and I would urge strongly that no other stores in addition be conveyed in her.
I am inclined to fear there may not be room enough and if by watering at any place directly in the route, more space could be gained it is desirable an arrangement to that effect should be agreed upon.
I have the honour to be
Yr Lordship's most obedt Sert
