Lytton confirms the receipt of Douglas’s despatches and informs him that fifty sappers will be sent for the survey team
of the land border instead of thirty.

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch
No 7 of the 5th
of March last and with reference to your suggestion that the party sent
to survey the line of boundary should be increased, I have to acquaint
you that subsequently to the date of the letter to which you refer it
was determined to send fifty Sappers, exclusive of Non-Commissioned
Officers, instead of thirty.
