I have to acknowledge the
receipt of your Despatch No 18, of the
24th of April last and have to acquaint you that, having consulted the
Queen's Advocate on the subject, Her Majesty's Government are of opinion
that you acted properly in declining to deliver up to the United States
Government the soldiers charged with Robbery, who had deserted from the
United States.
