1. I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No 77 of the 10th June last, transmitting for my information a letter from the Foreign Office enclosing a DespatchManuscript imageDespatch from Her Majestys Minister at Washington with the copy of a note which he had addressed to General Cass, with reference to the intrusion of Citizens of the United States into the Island of San Juan.
2. Those Despatches I have perused with much interest, as the subject has assumed an unusual degree of importance in consequence of the late military occupation of that island by the Troops ofManuscript imageof the United States.
