Sir
Having commercial transactions in Vancouvers Island I shall be extremely obliged if you will inform me whether or not there is a British Consul thereā€”if so I should be glad to know his name.
Trusting that you will pardon this liberty and assuring you that I have not ventured to trouble you until I had failed to obtain the information from the usual authorities.
I remain Sir,
Your most obedt Servt
