With reference to my Despatch of the 18th January last No 2 informing your Grace that in compliance with the instructions contained in yourManuscript imageyour Despatch of the 2nd November 1859 No 20 I had issued directions to Colonel Moody to take the requisite measures towards the erection of a Naval Powder Magazine at Esquimalt I have now the honor to forward copy of a letter which I have this day received from Colonel Moody acquainting me that he has selected a site and has forwarded a plan and estimate for the magazine to the Inspector-GeneralManuscript imageGeneral of Fortifications.
2. I have placed Cole Island, (the site fixed upon at the head of Esquimalt Harbour) at the disposal of Colonel Moody in accordance with the instructions of your Grace.
