With reference to your Letter of the 5th Instant, on the subject of reserving for Naval purposes the Ground, Buildings &ca at Esquimalt, Vancouvers Island, purchased for the North American Boundary Commission, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to acquaint you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle, that they would wish that this property at Esquimalt Harbour should be transferred to them for Naval purposes when no longer requiredManuscript imagerequired for the use of the Surveying party under Colonel Hawkins.
