I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you herewith, for the information of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, an Extract from a Letter of Rear Admiral Sir Robt L. Baynes, dated the 24th July, relating to the state of affairs at Vancouvers Island, and disturbances at Admiral Island in the Gulf of Georgia.

We expect to hear on the subject from the Governor. But perhaps it will be proper to send him an extract of the Admiral's Manuscript imagereport, & request a report from him on the suggestion that a Magistrate shd be appointed to reside on Admiral Island.
