Referring to the last paragraph of the letter from this Department of the 25th Janry last relating to the payment of the passages in the Ship "Grecian" of the Wife & Children of George Davies, one of the Lightkeepers proceeding to Vancouver's Island I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to request that you will move His Grace The Duke of Newcastle to cause instructions to be forwarded to the Governor of that Colony to pay on the arrival of the above persons at Vancouver's Island the sum of Thirty Six Pounds, Fifteen Shillings (£36.15/-) to Messrs Samuel Price & Co at Vancouver, being the balance due for the above passages.
I am to add that the Brokers of the "Grecian" have requested that this money may be paid to their Agents, Messrs Price & Co, & not to the Captain of the Vessel.
