Newcastle informs Douglas that in order to forward several Acts of the Legislature
of Vancouver Island for approval, the Colonial Office must receive them after they have been duly authenticated
by the proper officer with the Seal of the Colony affixed to each.
No. 11
Downing Street
22 February 1860
Sir,
I have had under my consideration the copies of the Acts of the
Legislature of Vancouver Island transmitted in your despatch No. 60 of
the 26th of November last.
I am prepared to submit these Acts for Her
Majesty's confirmation, but in order to enable me to take this course
it is necessary that II should receive them duly authenticated by the
proper officer with the Seal of the Colony affixed to each.
