With reference to your letter of the 8th Ulto and its enclosed report from Governor Douglas, Stating that he will be compelled to draw upon the Lords Commissoners of the Treasury for the sum of £1000 to defray the cost of Barracks for the Troops occupying St Juan:

I am directed to state for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonial Department, that the sanctionof

of the Lords of the Treasury has been obtained to the expenditure in question.
