Newcastle forwards Douglas the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. George Hunter Cary to be Attorney General for the Island of Vancouver, and instructs him to send the Colonial Office £1-10-0 in repayment of the Stamp Duty due on this Warrant.

Sir,

With reference to your Despatch No. 8 of the 26th of January last, I herewith transmit to you, the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. George Hunter Cary to be Attorney General for the Island of Vancouver and I have to instruct you to remit to Mr. Gordon Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my office the sum of £1-10-0 in repayment of the Stamp Duty due on this Warrant.
