Duncan acknowledges receipt of a letter from Elliot containing a copy of Newcastle's despatch to Douglas concerning John Copland's eligibility to practise law in the colony of Vancouver Island.
Duncan to Elliot (Assistant Under-Secretary)
This morning I have had the honour to receive your letter of
yesterday and the copy of a dispatch addressed by the Duke of
Newcastle to the Governor of Van Couvers Island respecting the
admission of Mr John Copland to practise the Law in that Island and
which shall be communicated to him.
