My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to report to you that I have granted Three Months
leave of absence on Medical Certificate to Mr George Hunter Cary,
the Attorney General of this Colony.
2. I have provisionally appointedMr.Mr David Babington Ring, the
Senior Barrister in this Colony to act as Attorney General during the
absence of Mr Cary.
3. I enclose herewith the requisite Certificate according to the
Regulations of the Colonial Service.

Statement certifying that Cary "has received full salary at the rate
of $1450 per annum as Attorney General up to the 30th April 1863,"

Medical Certificate advising that Cary "is suffering from general
nervous debility and that change of air and scene is necessary for
