No. 16
Downing Street
9 May 1863
Sir,
With reference to your despatch No. 7 of the 4th of March last I have to call your attention to the inconvenience arising from the informal manner in which the Legislative Acts of your Government are sent home.
In the presentinstanceManuscript image instance neither the Acts themselves nor the clauses of the Acts are numbered, and, notwithstanding the previous correspondence which has passed on the subject, they are not accompanied by any marginal abstract nor by any report from the Attorney General.
I have therefore to request that you will take care that the rules establishedforManuscript image for the transaction of business with this Department are in future attended to.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedient Servant
