I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch marked
               "Separate" of the
21st of September enclosing a Memorial addressed to me
               by certain inhabitants of
Vancouver Island on the occasion of the
approaching termination of your relations with the
Colony
 Colony as it's
               Governor.

I am much gratified by the evidence which the Memorial affords of
the esteem in which your Administration of the Government of the Island
has been held by the Colonists.
