Sir,
We are honoured with your commands signified in Sir Frederic Rogers'
letter of the 5th Instant, stating, that he was directed by you to
transmit to us the copy enclosed of a Despatch from the Governor of
Vancouver Island, accompanied by an Act passed by the Legislature of
Vancouver Island, (to which the Governor has reserved his Assent)
entitled "An Act respecting Barristers and Attorneys at Law."

you likewise to enclose a copy of the observations of the local
Attorney General upon the Act, and to request, that we would take
these papers into our consideration, and favour you with our opinion,
whether this Act may properly receive Her Majesty's Confirmation.
