Cardwell acknowledges receipt of Kennedy’s despatch and approves of Kennedy’s arrangements for an audit of Vancouver Island accounts.

Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 31
of the 4th of June, and to approve the arrangement you have made for
securing the Services of an Auditor, the result of which I understand
to be that the sum of 725 Dollars ($725) voted by the Assemblywill
will be
paid from the General Revenue to Mr. Ker for Auditing the Accounts of
Vancouver Island.
