I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23rd instant transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Vancouver's Island of the 2nd January 1865 respecting the measures taken by him to protect the public from encroaching upon the park at Victoria; and I have to request that you will convey to Mr Cardwell my acknowledgements for thiscommunication
