Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 36 of the 7th June, representing the condition of the Postal Establishment of Vancouvers Island in consequence of the deficiency of any Postal Regulations.
I transmit to you, for your information, copies of a correspondence to which your Despatch has given rise,betweenManuscript image between this Department the General Post Office and the Board of Treasury.
If you desire that the treasury should fix the rates of Postage in Vancouver Island, it may be advisable that you should at once inform me what rates you would desire to be prescribed.
